The North Dakota Department of Environmental Quality will be taking public comments on a draft permit under the state’s air pollution control rules for T&C Inc., doing business as Fiberglass Specialties at 7600 Highway E., Minot.

The 30-day public comment period runs from April 3-May 2, followed by a 45-day U.S. Environmental Protection Agency review period that ends June 16. The NDDEQ has proposed renewal of the existing permit but will consider public comments before taking final action following the EPA review period.

According to NDDEQ information, the facility operates in three separate buildings and manufactures different types of fiberglass-reinforced plastics/composite products; currently, large tanks and fiberglass heater covers are the most common. The predominant source of air emissions is styrene from resin application.
