Minot man charged with offenses against minor

A Minot man has been charged with multiple offenses, including three felonies stemming from alleged sexual offenses against a juvenile.

Steven Exantus, 31, Minot, made his initial appearance in North Central District Court on Tuesday, March 24, where he faces two counts of gross sexual imposition, one a Class AA felony and the other a Class A felony; luring minors by computer, a Class B felony; two counts of contributing to the delinquency of a minor, two counts of delivery to certain persons unlawful, menacing, and false information to law enforcement, all Class A misdemeanors.

According to court documents, Minot Police received a report on Dec. 21, 2025, regarding communications between the juvenile victim and an adult male identified as Exantus. The victim reportedly met Exantus at work, and they began spending time together during which Exantus would provide alcohol and offer marijuana.

The victim identified two incidences in which Exantus allegedly performed sexual acts on the victim while the victim was intoxicated. The victim also claimed Exantus had threatened with a firearm because he believed the victim had spent time with someone else.

According to the affidavit, investigators reviewed the victim’s communications with Exantus, which allegedly showed the two engaged in a pseudo-relationship and messages indicating sexual contact.

Exantus was interviewed by law enforcement in February and denied ever spending time with the victim outside of work or messaging the victim on social media.

Exantus is being held in the Ward County Jail and is scheduled for a preliminary hearing and arraignment on April 30.
