Drone light show postponed to May

Cold weather proved to be too much for the drone light show that was to take place Wednesday, March 4, at the Magic City Discovery Center. However, all is not lost.

Because of cold temperatures that are expected to continue, the show has been moved to a date in late May, to be announced.

The drones require temperatures of about 13 degrees or warmer for the lights to operate properly, and with Wednesday’s windchill, it was simply too cold for the show to run, according to the Magic City Discovery Center. Northern Lights Drone Shows, the company behind the event, offered to return at the end of May, and two shows will be hosted at that time, MCDC stated.

“We are very disappointed that we weren’t able to hold the show this week, but we feel this is the best decision to ensure guests can fully enjoy the experience when conditions are right. We are incredibly grateful to the Aggie Foundation for their support in making this event possible, and we look forward to welcoming everyone back in May,” a MCDC statement said.

For guests who purchased VIP tickets that were not used, MCDC will offer a refund or hold those tickets to be used for one of the shows in May. For refunds, please contact marketing@magiccitydiscoverycenter.com. For anyone who didn’t get VIP tickets this time around but would like them, additional tickets will be made available again in May.

A show that had been scheduled for Tuesday, March 3, was able to take place as scheduled.

Starting at $2.99/week.
