District 6 American Legion meeting set in White Shield

WHITE SHIELD – Members of North Dakota’s American Legion posts of the 6th District and their auxiliaries will gather in White Shield at the Old Scouts Memorial Veterans Building, 545 Sahnish Ave., for their 2026 Spring District Meeting on Saturday, March 28.

Registration starts at 11 a.m., followed by a meal at noon and the meeting at 1 p.m. Registration is $5, with no additional cost for the meal.

District 6 includes Legion posts in Burke, Renville, Bottineau, McHenry, Ward and western McLean counties.

District 6 Commander Kathryn White Bear of White Shield Post 253 will preside over the session. Department Commander Michael Weyrauch of Ray Post 9 and other department officers will be in attendance.

Legionnaires will be provided information on upcoming youth activities, such as American Legion Boys State, oratorical contest and the American Legion baseball season.

Representatives will elect a new district commander and district vice commander for the coming Legion year, 2026-2027. Joining the members of the district will be area department committee members, department vice commander and candidates for various Legion offices seeking support at the 2026 Department Convention in the Ramada in Fargo on June 26-28.
