Convicted murderer sentenced for weapons possession

Shawnee Krall

A Minot man previously convicted of murder and currently serving a life sentence has now been sentenced to serve a concurrent sentence of 10 years for felony possession of weapons by an inmate.

Shawnee Krall, 33, appeared in North Central District Court on Monday, March 23, before Judge Richard Hagar for sentencing on counts of possession of weapon by inmate-knife or dangerous weapon, a Class A felony; and possession of weapon by inmate-shard or other weapon, a Class B felony.

According to court documents, Krall was charged in September 2023 after Ward County Jail staff discovered items in Krall’s cell block classified as dangerous weapons while he was awaiting trial for the 2020 murder of Alice Queirolo.

Krall was eventually found guilty on both counts by the jury on Sept. 16, 2025.

Hagar sentenced Krall to 20 years with the Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation, with 10 years suspended to be followed by three years of supervised probation. The sentence will be served concurrently with Krall’s life sentence from the murder case.
