Carrington man dies in two-vehicle crash

CARRINGTON – An 80-year-old Carrington man died in a two-vehicle crash on N.D. Highway 200, 6 miles east of Carrington, Monday, March 2.

According to the North Dakota Highway Patrol, about 4:30 p.m., a 2006 Peterbilt semi with trailer, driven by a 32-year-old man from Washburn, was traveling eastbound on Highway 200 and a 2019 Ford F-150, driven by the Carrington man, was traveling southbound on 74th Avenue Northeast. The Ford entered the intersection to cross Highway 200 and was struck on the passenger side by the semi. Both vehicles left the road and came to rest in a field on the southeast corner of the intersection.

The driver of the Peterbilt was transported to a Carrington hospital with minor injuries. The driver of the Ford F-150 was pronounced dead at the scene. Their names were not released at this time.

The driver of the Peterbilt was wearing a seat belt and the driver of the Ford was not wearing a seat belt, according to the Highway Patrol.

The crash remains under investigation by the Highway Patrol.
