Bomb threat at state Capitol being investigated
BISMARCK — The North Dakota Highway Patrol is investigating a bomb threat at the state Capitol building in Bismarck Sunday, March 15.
According to the Highway Patrol, at 9:52 p.m., a bomb threat was called in to Bismarck Central Dispatch stating a bomb had been placed in the Capitol building. The North Dakota State Patrol, Bismarck Police Department and Bismarck Fire Department immediately responded to the Capitol. There was no detonation. The Bismarck Bomb Squad was then dispatched to search the building. No bomb was found and the building deemed safe. In addition, security footage was reviewed and no threat was observed.
During the incident, in addition to N.D. State Patrol units, Bismarck Police Department units set up a perimeter around the Capitol. The Bismarck Fire Department was staged on scene, and a drone was deployed to view the immediate area surrounding the Capitol grounds. The incident was cleared shortly before midnight.
No additional information will be provided at this time, according to the Highway Patrol.
