Bank supports TSA workers during shutdown
FARGO – Gate City Bank is offering short-term loans to support Transportation Security Administration workers and other federal employees in North Dakota and Minnesota who are experiencing financial strain due to the partial government shutdown created by freezing funding for the U.S. Department of Homeland Security.
Gate City Bank is offering its BetterLife Relief Loan to those directly impacted by delayed or missed paychecks. Available with zero interest and no fees, this short-term loan is designed to help TSA workers and other impacted federal government employees manage essential expenses while awaiting their wages.
Eligible employees can borrow up to $5,000 through the single-pay loan, which does not require any payments until the final due date. The program is available to qualified federal workers within Gate City Bank’s service area, even if they are not currently customers.
“We recognize the critical role TSA workers play in keeping our transportation systems safe, and we understand how stressful it can be to miss a paycheck,” said Kim Settel, Gate City Bank executive vice president and chief retail banking officer. “Missing a paycheck can be overwhelming, especially when families are trying to manage basic needs such as groceries and utility payments. Our goal is to help ease that financial burden, so these individuals and their families can focus on getting through this challenging time.”
In addition to relief loans, Gate City Bank is also offering assistance to TSA and other impacted federal government employees who may need flexibility with existing loan payments.
This is the second time Gate City Bank has activated its BetterLife Relief Loan to support federal workers affected by a government shutdown in the past year.
TSA and other federal workers experiencing financial hardship due to the partial government shutdown can contact Gate City Bank at 800-423-3344 or 293-2400, or email OnlineBanking@GateCity.Bank. Assistance is also available at any Gate City Bank location.
