Aggie Foundation sponsors educational drone program

The Aggie Foundation announced it is sponsoring an educational drone program in three area schools, along with a public educational program at the Discovery Center in Minot.

Following the educational program at the Discovery Center, a drone light show will take place above the facility at about 8:10 p.m. on Tuesday, March 3, and Wednesday, March 4. The shows are viewable and free and from your front door or a nearby parking lot. Attendees are encouraged to start watching by 8 p.m. The display will be visible from up to a mile and a half away.

The educational programming focuses on science, technology, engineering, arts and math (STEAM), giving students and families an up-close look at drone programming, flight coordination, GPS systems, creative design and engineering principles. The evening drone display will demonstrate those same concepts in action through synchronized aerial formations and precision technology made by the students just prior to the show.

Event updates, including weather-related announcements, will be posted on the Minot Discovery Center social page.
