Snowshoe trails open in Oak Park
Although the cross country trail crew requires 7-8 inches of snow on the ground to groom ski trails, recent conditions have allowed crews to prepare trails in Oak Park that are perfect for
snowshoeing enthusiasts, according to the Minot Park District.
Visitors can enjoy two groomed loop options: an outer loop measuring about 1 mile and a shorter inner loop of about half a mile.
“We’re excited that, even with so little snow this year, our crews were able to groom Oak Park trails for snowshoeing,” said Elly DesLauriers, Minot Parks executive director. “With warm temperatures coming within the next week, this may be our one and only chance of the season.”
The trails are also suitable for skishoes and HOK skis.
Snowshoe rentals are available at the park district’s main office at 420 3rd Ave SW.
