Residential fire damages unoccupied home
The Minot Fire Department extinguished a house fire in an unoccupied home in northeast Minot on Sunday, Feb. 15.
According to the department, crews were dispatched shortly before 6 p.m. and arrived on scene in about 3 minutes. Firefighters observed smoke coming from the first floor of the residence. They began attacking the fire and advanced into the base.
Despite encountering some difficulty accessing the origin of the fire due to heavy interior contents, crews were able to exit the structure as the fire intensified, forming a defensive exterior attack until the flames were knocked down.
No injuries were reported. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
