ALAMO – A produced water spill occurred Monday, Feb. 2, at the Krabseth 1 SWD site, about 10 miles southwest of Alamo.

Produced water is a byproduct of oil and gas extraction.

Kraken Operating, LLC, who notified the North Dakota Oil and Gas Division of the spill, reported the release of 1,200 barrels of produced water onto location. As of Tuesday, Feb., all of the produced water was recovered.

A N.D. Oil and Gas inspector has been to the location and will monitor any additional cleanup required.
