One measles case confirmed in Walsh County

BISMARCK – North Dakota Health and Human Services (HHS) is reporting one confirmed measles case in Walsh County. This is the first case reported in Walsh County. The individual reported recent travel to Pembina County.

Three additional cases are also being reported in Pembina County, bringing the total number of cases in the state in 2026 to 11, with one of those in Williams County.

Individuals contagious with measles visited public locations throughout the state during their infectious periods. Details of exposure locations, along with guidance on what to do if you may have been exposed, are available on the HHS website. Unvaccinated individuals are at the highest risk of contracting measles.
