Demolition of Dakota Hall begins

CHARLES CRANE/MDN The east side of Dakota Hall was exposed to the elements as the demolition of one of Minot State University's oldest buildings commenced Wednesday, Feb. 25, marking the end of an era for the university. According to MSU, Dakota Hall was the university's second residence hall and was built in 1931. The building was taken offline in 2020 due to deteriorating conditions after it was determined renovating the building wasn't financially viable. The demolition is expected to be completed in mid-May, according to the university, with the site of the former residence hall to be converted into a green space. See video online.
