County seeks input on proposed intersection changes
An informational meeting will be held on a proposed roundabout at the intersection of Ward County Roads 14 and 17, two miles west of Minot.
The open house style meeting will be held Tuesday, Feb. 17, from 5-7:30 p.m. in the Ward County Administration Building, rooms 106-108. A short presentation will begin at 6 p.m.
Ward County, in partnership with the North Dakota Department of Transportation will host the meeting. The public will have an opportunity to provide feedback.
The intersection improvements are proposed to address line-of-sight issues impacting traffic safety, accommodate increased traffic volumes in the area and support anticipated growth driven by the new Trinity Hospital, other developments and the relocation of Minot’s landfill entrance. Crash history and an engineering analysis have indicated the need for a reconfigured intersection.
A projected schedule anticipates the project will be in the final design this year, with right of way acquisition before bidding in November. Construction would occur in 2027.
The estimated project cost is $2.9 million, of which 90% would come from a federal match.
