Council member won’t seek reelection
Minot City Council member Paul Pitner has announced he will not seek reelection in June.
He will have served two four-year terms.
“It has been an incredible honor. I’ve had the privilege of serving alongside dedicated colleagues and working with an outstanding city staff who care deeply about this community and work every day to make it better,” he said in his announcement.
“Minot is a great place to live, work and play,” he added. “Yes, we have faced challenges; every community does. But we have also made meaningful progress. There are numerous positive changes happening. There are good people doing good work. And there is far more to be optimistic about than pessimistic.”
He said his decision not to run comes as he has determined it is time for a break and to spend more time with family and his businesses as well as a time for new voices to step forward.
