Cooking fire extinguished in northeast Minot
Crews with the Minot Fire Department were dispatched to respond to a reported cooking fire in northeast Minot Wednesday afternoon, Feb. 11.
According to a release from the Minot Fire Department, crews arrived on scene within 3 minutes after the report was received at 4:21 p.m. The crews didn’t observe any smoke or flames from the exterior of the residence and were informed by the occupant that a grease fire had been extinguished.
An investigation of the residence reportedly found fire damage to the microwave and cabinets above the stove, and proceeded to fully extinguish remaining hotspots. No injuries were sustained from the incident. The Minot Fire Department reminded the public to never leave cooking unattended and smother grease fire flames with a lid or baking soda rather than water.
