FARGO – Gate City Bank mortgage customers have helped empower more than $29,000 in Giving Hearts Day donations to local charities, the bank has reported.

Throughout the year, customers who close on a home with Gate City Bank can choose a charity to receive a $50 donation from the bank. To help nonprofits meet their Giving Hearts Day matches and goals, the bank is giving nonprofits their donation checks now.

This year, the program is providing more than $29,000 to just over 200 charities – more than doubling the $25,000 gift the bank is also donating through its Giving Hearts Day nomination contest.

Since launching in 2022, the bank’s charity gift program for homebuyers has donated more than $114,000 to local charities.
