Williston Basin Petroleum Conference set for May

BISMARCK – The Williston Basin Petroleum Conference will be held May 19-21 at the Bismarck Event Center, bringing together industry experts, leaders and key decision makers to explore the future of oil and natural gas development in the Williston Basin.

The conference is the largest conference and trade show in the nation focused on the Bakken, Three Forks and Williston Basin.

According to the North Dakota Petroleum Council, new this year is each day will focus on a new theme:

– Tuesday, May 19, will celebrate “75 Years of North Dakota Oil” by honoring the discoveries, innovations and people that transformed our state into a global energy leader.

– Wednesday’s theme is “Bakken 2.0 – Crack the Code” and will focus on innovation and new technologies for enhanced oil recovery to extend North Dakota’s oil play for another 75 years and beyond.

– Thursday will showcase “American Energy Dominance: America 250” and will celebrate the nation’s founding and rise as the world’s undisputed leader in energy production.

The 2026 conference will feature more than 70 speakers and presenters sharing insights on breakthrough technologies, emerging formations, regulatory updates, and the continued evolution of the Williston Basin. The main stage will host CEOs from Chord Energy, ConocoPhillips, Devon Energy and other companies operating in the state. Panelists and keynote speakers will address critical topics, including enhanced oil recovery, advancing Bakken technology, carbon management, Williston Basin geology and operational excellence.

The event is expected to attract more than 2,500 attendees and 250 exhibitors.
