Ward County state’s attorney not seeking reelection

Ward County State’s Attorney Rozanna Larson has submitted a letter to the Ward County Commission indicating her decision not to seek reelection this fall.

Larson joined the State’s Attorney’s Office in March 1997 as an assistant state’s attorney. She was appointed state’s attorney by the county commission to fill a vacancy in 2009 and has served in an elected position since 2010.

“It has been an honor and a pleasure working with all of you, law enforcement, all the departments of the County, and the citizens of Ward County. I will miss working with all of you, the courtroom battles, and most of all helping citizens seeking justice,” Larson wrote.

She added the position involves commitment and sacrifice, and she could not have made those choices without the support of her family.

She stated her last day with the county will be Dec. 31, 2026. The general election is Nov. 3.

Starting at $2.99/week.
