Public Service commissioner announces reelection campaign

BISMARCK — Sheri Haugen-Hoffart has announced her reelection bid for the North Dakota Public Service Commission. She was appointed in 2022 and subsequently confirmed by North Dakota voters that same year.

As the manager of the PSC’s consumer affairs portfolio, Haugen-Hoffart stated she has prioritized public input and strengthened transparency through regular public meetings and constituent engagement. She added she has led critical reviews of major projects and rate cases while recognizing the essential role that coal and natural gas play in ensuring North Dakota’s energy supply remains dependable and cost-effective.

Haugen-Hoffart manages portfolios on renewable energy reclamation, pipeline safety, damage prevention, and cybersecurity. Appointed to the Board of Directors of the National Association of Regulatory Utility Commissioners and serving as vice president of the Mid-America Regulatory Conference, Haugen-Hoffart has worked on regional collaboration and cyber-security standards.
