Prairie Grit launches “United With GRIT” with Minot schools

Prairie Grit announced it is launching United With GRIT, a public outreach series with Minot Public Schools that pairs high school athletics with adaptive sports through two featured events. During the events, student athletes will wear custom jerseys, adaptive athletes will take the spotlight and fans can directly support local adaptive programming.

The series includes the Minot United hockey game on Thursday, Jan. 29, at Maysa Arena, Pepsi Rink, and the Minot North vs. Minot High boys and girls basketball doubleheader on Friday, Feb. 13 at Magic City Campus.

During each event, student athletes will wear hybrid-branded United With GRIT jerseys, which will be auctioned off following each game.

United With GRIT demonstrates to students and families that athleticism, competition and teamwork exist across all abilities and that adaptive sports belong in the same spaces as traditional school athletics, Prairie Grit stated in its announcement.

“This series is about visibility and belonging,” said Krystal Butgereit, executive director for

Prairie Grit. “United With GRIT puts adaptive sports in front of students where school pride already lives and shows that inclusion isn’t separate from athletics; it’s part of it.”

United With GRIT is designed through a partnership between Prairie Grit and Minot Public Schools to use school athletics as a platform to build awareness, connection and support for adaptive athletes in the community.

Starting at $2.99/week.
