PARSHALL – A brine spill occurred at the Shell 153-89-5-16H-1 well site, about 11 miles north of Parshall, Saturday, Jan. 3.

Hunt Oil Company notified the North Dakota Oil and Gas Division of the spill, according to N.D. Department of Mineral Resources information.

Hunt Oil reported that 2,725 barrels of brine were released, contained to the pad, and 1,170 barrels have been recovered.

A North Dakota Oil and Gas inspector has been to the location and will monitor any additional cleanup required.
