During February, Vitalant urges all donors, especially type O donors, to give blood and help keep the supply for patients from falling short.

An active flu season combined with winter weather across the United States has reduced donor availability, making it especially important for those who are healthy and in areas unaffected by severe weather to step up and donate to help ensure an ample blood supply for patients, according to Vitalant.

Blood drives are scheduled in Minot in February as follows: Tuesday, Feb. 10, Hoeven Elementary School, 1-7 p.m.; Thursday, Feb. 12, Minot Automotive, 10 a.m.-1 p.m.; and Thursday, Feb. 19, Dakota College-Minot Campus, 101 3rd Ave. SW, 12:45-3:45 p.m.
