Alzheimer’s Association offers presentations
The Alzheimer’s Association will offer a free virtual presentation, “The Empowered Caregiver: Communicating Effectively” on Tuesday, Jan. 20, from 11 a.m.-noon.
This class is designed to offer helpful ways to approach the responsibilities of caring for someone living with dementia using a person-centered approach. “Communicating Effectively” teaches how dementia affects communication, including tips for communicating well with family, friends, and healthcare professionals.
Registration is required by contacting the Alzheimer’s Association Minnesota-Dakota Chapter. This project is funded through the North Dakota Department of Health and Human Services, Adult & Aging Services Section.
The Alzheimer’s Association, together with North Dakota State University Extension, will offer a webinar series titled “Nourish2.” The series will take place on eight consecutive Thursdays, beginning Jan. 22, from noon-1 p.m. This presentation is free and open to the public, with registration through the Alzheimer’s Association. This project also is funded through the North Dakota Department of Health and Human Services, Adult & Aging Services Section.
“Nourish2” teaches lifestyle changes that can reduce the risk for developing Alzheimer’s or other dementia. Learn how to eat more nutritiously and be more physically active to promote health and well-being.
