$25,000 bond for 15 counts of CSAM
A Burlington man has been charged in North Central District Court with 15 counts of possession of certain materials prohibited, or child sexual abuse material.
Denton Jakob Cash, 29, made his initial appearance in district court on Tuesday, Jan. 20, before Judge Stacy Louser.
According to court documents, the charges stemmed from an investigation by the Ward County Sheriff’s Department into five cybertips from the National Center for Missing or Exploited Children (NCMEC) flagged by a cloud-based services provider.
According to the affidavit of probable cause, the internet protocol address connected to the cybertips was determined to be associated with Cash’s residence and his cell phone number. Cash’s cell phone, a laptop and an iPad were seized by investigators and found to contain 127 instances of CSAM involving children between the ages of 6 and 14.
Cash is currently in custody at the Ward County Jail under a $25,000 cash or corporate surety bond. A preliminary hearing in this matter has been scheduled for Wednesday, Feb. 25.
