20 years sentence for Garrison hotel shooting

A Garrison man convicted in connection with a February 2025 hotel shooting in Garrison has been sentenced to serve 20 years with the Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation.

Jason Chamberlain, 45, appeared for sentencing in South Central District Court on Dec. 19, 2025. District Court Judge Bonnie Storbakken sentenced Chamberlain to serve 20 years for one count of attempted murder, with credit for 334 days already served. The sentence will be served concurrently with sentences of five years for two Class C felony counts of reckless endangerment and terrorizing. He was also assessed $1,080 in restitution.
