Wreaths will honor veterans at Rosehill

Submitted Photo Volunteers help with wreath-laying in Rosehill Memorial Park Cemetery during a previous wreaths event. This year’s wreath-laying is Saturday, Dec. 13.

Rosehill Memorial Park Cemetery will be blanketed in honor and love Saturday, Dec. 13, as more than 1,000 wreaths are laid upon the graves of fallen heroes at the annual Wreaths Across America Ceremony, according to information from the Minot Wreaths program.

The Civil Air Patrol Magic City Composite Squadron, alongside Minot’s many veteran organizations and volunteers, will gather to ensure that every veteran is remembered in name and spirit.

Community members are invited to volunteer and help ensure every veteran is honored, starting at noon.

“Jack Frost never misses a ceremony, and he may try to chase you off, but grab that oversized pom-pom hat, those old ugly boots that are oh, so toasty, the fuzzy blanket from your couch,” Wreaths Across America Minot Coordinator Robyn Stoner said in a news release. “Layer up in your North D’colda finery, channel your inner Ralphy’s-little-brother, and join us in making sure every veteran is remembered properly.”

The ceremony will feature veterans and long-time Wreaths Across America supporters Richard Reuer and Dean Verstraete, local Scout Troop 4412, Civil Air Patrol’s cadets and guest speaker retired U.S. Air Force Col. Tom Joyce. A three-round volley of gunfire and the playing of TAPS will conclude the formal ceremony. Individuals are then encouraged to remain and lay wreaths personally.

Starting at $2.99/week.
