Woman arrested for DUI, driving in wrong lane
STANLEY – A Minot woman has been arrested and charged with driving under the influence after being pulled over for traveling westbound in the eastbound lanes on U.S. Highway 2 on Wednesday, Dec. 3.
According to the Stanley Police Department, Chastity Gaye Askvig, 51, Minot, was pulled over after being observed driving her white Jeep in the wrong lane by a Stanley Police officer. The officer initiated a traffic stop, and noted the strong odor of alcohol coming from Askvig. The officer also observed her slurring her speech and that she had red, watery eyes.
Askvig was placed under arrest after a DUI investigation, and booked into the Mountrail County Correctional Center for driving under the influence and DUI refusal, both Class B misdemeanors.
