Stanley man injured in two-vehicle crash

STANLEY – A 21-year-old man from Stanley was seriously injured when the vehicle he was driving and a semi pulling a water-hauling trailer crashed at the intersection of U.S. Highway 2 and Fourth Street Southeast at Stanley Monday, Dec. 15.

According to the North Dakota Highway Patrol, about 6:45 a.m., a 2012 Subaru Legacy, driven by the Stanley man, was southbound on Highway 2 when the driver crossed into the median at Fourth Street Southeast. The vehicle continued southbound and was struck by the eastbound 2014 Peterbilt semi pulling a semi-trailer driven by a 51-year-old man from Danube, Minnesota. Road conditions were icy at the time of the crash, according to the Highway Patrol.

The driver of the Subaru was taken by ambulance to a Minot hospital.The driver of the semi was not injured.

The Subaru driver was not wearing a seat belt and the semi driver was wearing a seat belt, according to the Highway Patrol.

The crash remains under investigation by the Highway Patrol.
