An electrical outage affected about 2,800 Xcel Energy customers in Minot’s Sunday, Dec. 28, according to information from the company. The outage largely impacted north Minot.

Strong winds moving through the area caused the power outage, starting at about 1 p.m., Xcel reported.

“Crews quickly and safely responded to the outage and made repairs, bringing customers back online within about two hours. We understand losing power can be frustrating and we appreciate our customers’ patience,” Xcel said in a statement.
