Possible charges in fatal pedestrian crash

The case against the driver allegedly involved in a fatal Dec. 14 pedestrian crash in front of the Ward County Court House has been forwarded to the Ward County State’s Attorney for review, according to the Minot Police Department.

According to MPD information, officers were dispatched to the area of East Burdick Avenue and Third Street Southeast shortly after 9 p.m. for a report of a pedestrian struck by a vehicle. Officers arrived, along with first responders, who located an adult male pedestrian unconscious and suffering life-threatening injuries.

The pedestrian, identified by police as Tristan John Wanner, Minot, 48, was transported to a Minot hospital but succumbed on Dec. 18 to injuries sustained during the crash.

The investigation transitioned to a fatal crash investigation and focused on a black 2012 Chevrolet Silverado K2500HD driven by a 44-year-old female driver, whose name will not be released at this time due to the case being under review, according to MPD information. The MPD stressed no formal charges have been filed, and the individual involved has not been charged with an offense related to this incident.
