Operation Homebound supports Minot AFB airmen
The Minot community can help bring joy to young service members at Minot Air Force Base by supporting Operation Homebound, a program dedicated to sending first-term airmen home for the holidays. Thursday, Dec. 4, is Operation Homebound Day.
A program of the Minot Area Chamber EDC, this year’s program already is helping many first-term airmen to reconnect with their family members and friends, thanks to generous donors and community partners, and more donations are welcome. Nearly 100 airline tickets have already been booked to help first-term airmen travel home. More donations are welcome, according to MACEDC information.
On Dec. 4, north and south Broadway QDOBA Mexican Eats locations and Jersey Mike’s Subs will donate 100% of the day’s sales to Operation Homebound to purchase airline tickets for airmen to go home for the holidays.
“Our community is incredibly proud of the individuals who serve at Minot Air Force base,” Brekka Kramer, MACEDC president/CEO, said. “Operation Homebound is a program that is close to our hearts and creates the opportunity for everyone from individuals to businesses and organizations to show support in a meaningful and personal way.”
Direct donations may be made through the MACEDC office or at Venmo at @MinotAreaChamberEDC.
