Minot, Ward County parks receive Garrison Diversion grants

Rice Lake Recreation District, Ward County Parks and Minot Park District are among recipients of funds for park improvements from Garrison Diversion’s Matching Recreation Grant Program. The Garrison Conservancy District’s Recreation Committee announced matching recreation grants to 12 projects, totaling $282,138.

The awards included $25,729 to Rice Lake Recreation District/Ward County Parks for the Rice Lake pickleball courts; $50,000 to Minot Park District to develop the South Hill Complex inclusive playground; and $8,773 to Ward County Parks for park improvements at Old Settlers, Eastside Estates and No Man’s Land disc golf. The park improvements include trash containers at Old Settlers Park in Burlington and new picnic tables at Old Settlers, Eastside Estates and No Man’s Land, which is the disc golf area next to Old Settlers.

Among other grants are $40,175 for the City of Maddock to assist with service upgrades at the Maddock Campground; $9,720 to the Foster County Fair Board to purchase bleachers for the fairgrounds; and $13,830 to Riverdale Parks & Recreation to make improvements at the Lakeside Park tennis courts.
