The Minot Area Community Foundation (MACF) announced two grants totaling $75,000 were awarded to support local organizations advancing health and quality of life in the Minot area. The gifts were made possible through the Roger R. and Delores Odell Fund, a donor-advised fund held at MACF.

According to MACF information, a $25,000 grant was awarded to the Trinity Health Foundation to support its Parkinson’s Exercise Rehab Program. The program offers no-cost exercise programming designed to improve mobility, longevity and overall quality of life for individuals with Parkinson’s disease. Delores Odell lived with Parkinson’s disease, and the Odells were deeply committed to supporting programs that enhance quality of life for those facing similar challenges. As the program prepares for a location move, the funds will help ensure uninterrupted services and assist in the purchase of necessary equipment for the new space.

A $50,000 grant was awarded to the Minot Family YMCA to support ongoing flood recovery efforts, according to MACF information. The YMCA has long served as a cornerstone of the community, strengthening wellbeing for its members and the broader region. Roger Odell, a longtime Minot businessman, cared deeply about supporting the community that supported him, and the grant continues that legacy.

“These grants are a powerful reflection of donor intent, and the enduring legacy Roger and Delores created for our community,” said Jason Zimmerman, MACF president. “They were committed to supporting organizations that make our region healthier, stronger and more connected. Their generosity continues to create meaningful impact well beyond their lifetime.”

Starting at $2.99/week.
