Identifications released in area crashes
The North Dakota Highway Patrol has released the names of those involved in two separate crashes in Mountrail County Monday, Dec. 15.
Gabriel Santiago, 21, Bismarck, driver of a Chrysler 200, and passenger Lazaro Bautista, 44, Burnsville, Minnesota, died when the Chrysler and a semi, driven by Shawn Sexton, 48, Watford City, crashed on N.D. Highway 1804, about 5 miles east of the Williams County line. Sexton was not injured.The crash occurred at 7:55 a.m.
Steven Jemtrud, 21, Stanley, was seriously injured when the Subaru Legacy he was driving and a semi pulling a water-hauling trailer, driven by Miguel Gonzalez, 51, Danube, Minnesota, crashed at the U.S. Highway 2 and Fourth Street Southeast intersection at Stanley. Gonzalez was not injured.The crash occurred at 6:45 a.m.
The roads were icy at the time of the crashes, according to the Highway Patrol.
The crashes remain under investigation by the Highway Patrol.
