Former Minot AFB commanders in higher level roles
BARKSDALE AIR FORCE BASE, La. – Lt. Gen. Jason Armagost recently assumed the role as deputy commander of Air Force Global Strike Command and deputy commander of Air Forces Strategic-Air, U.S. Strategic Command, at Barksdale Air Force Base, Louisiana, according to AFGSC information.
Armagost, who assumed the AFGSC position Nov. 17, replaced Lt. Gen. Michael Lutton, who became deputy commander of United States Strategic Command at Offutt Air Force Base, Nebraska.
Armagost, Lutton and Gen. S.L. Davis, who earlier became commander of AFGSC during a change of command ceremony Nov. 4, all are former commanders at Minot Air Force Base. Davis is also commander of Air Forces Strategic-Air, U.S. Strategic Command.
Armagost is a former commander of Minot AFB’s 5th Bomb Wing. Davis and Lutton are former commanders of the 91st Missile Wing.
Davis is the second commander of the 91st Missile Wing to become commander of AFGSC. Lt. Gen. Frank Klotz was the first commander of AFGSC, serving in that position from August 2009-January 2011.
