Broadway Circle achieves milestones in 2025
Jill Schramm/MDN City of Minot officials, Chamber Ambassadors and representatives of the state’s congressional delegation gather for a ribbon cutting July 31 in front of a recently completed family homeless shelter and affordable apartment building at Broadway Circle.
Nearly a decade in the making, Broadway Circle met new milestones in 2025.
In mid-December, Pathfinder Services of North Dakota was conducting intake procedures to fill the newly constructed 17-unit affordable apartment complex. Staff expected to open the six-unit family homeless shelter before the end of December.
The City of Minot entered a contract during 2025 with Pathfinder Services to operate Broadway Circle. A contract with Lutheran Social Services of North Dakota and later with Project BEE both were dissolved due to the organizations’ financial issues, and finding a new operator was a primary focus for the city in the past year.
In addition to the completed construction of the shelter and low- to moderate-income apartments, which were celebrated at a ribbon cutting July 31, Broadway Circle includes two commercial spaces and is home to the Lord’s Cupboard Food Pantry and Welcome Table. Pathfinder Services also announced it would be moving its Minot headquarters to Broadway Circle.
Broadway Circle is part of the City of Minot’s National Disaster Resilience Program, which was awarded $74 million in 2016 and has provided $5.3 million for Broadway Circle
The City of Minot and Pathfinder Services entered a 20-year lease that began Nov. 1. The lease includes an option for Pathfinder to purchase the property for $1.3 million after the 20 years, with rent payments credited to the purchase price. That will allow the city to recoup the nearly $1.3 million spent on Broadway Circle in addition to the National Disaster Resilience funds.
