Two injured in separate crashes in Pierce County
An 88-year-old Esmond woman was injured in a two-vehicle crash on N.D. Highway 3, south of Rugby, Tuesday, Nov. 11.
According to the North Dakota Highway Patrol, about 1:25 p.m., a 2025 Chevrolet Blazer, driven by the woman, was traveling south on Highway 3. A 2005 Sterling LT9500 truck, driven by a 47-year-old Rugby man, was traveling west from a gravel township road and entered Highway 3. The truck struck the Blazer in a T-bone collision.
The truck’s driver was not wearing a seat belt and the Blazer driver was wearing a seat belt, according to the Highway Patrol.
The Esmond woman sustained serious injuries and was taken by Rugby Ambulance to a local medical facility. The Rugby man was not injured.
About 6:25 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 11, a 2008 Freightliner, driven by a 55-year-old Esmond man, was traveling west on N.D. Highway 19 near Esmond when the driver lost control of the vehicle, according to the Highway Patrol. The Freightliner entered the ditch and rolled, coming to rest on its side.
The driver was not wearing a seat belt, according to the Highway Patrol.
The driver sustained serious injuries and was taken by Harvey Ambulance to a nearby medical facility.
Both crashes remain under investigation by the Highway Patrol.
