TUBACHRISTMAS concert set for Dec. 6

TUBACHRISTMAS will return to Minot for a free public concert on Saturday, Dec. 6.

The concert will be held at 1 p.m. in Dakota Square Mall, located near Santa’s Workshop. This festive performance is free, and everyone is welcome, according to information from the Minot Symphony Association.

“TUBACHRISTMAS is pure holiday fun,” said Ellen Fenner, executive director of the Minot Symphony Orchestra, in a news release. “Musicians of all ages gather with their tubas and euphoniums to play music everyone knows and loves, and audiences — taking a break from holiday shopping — always leave smiling.”

Tuba and euphonium players of all ages are encouraged to participate and preregister at minotsymphony.com/tubachristmas. On site registration and a required $15 registration fee will be collected at 10 a.m., followed by rehearsal from 10:30-11:30 a.m. Musicians should bring their own music stands.

Musicians will have a break before the 1 p.m. performance. Registration and rehearsal will take place at the Sleep Inn and Suites Sunrise room on the south end of the hotel. Each registrant will receive a TUBACHRISTMAS 2025 commemorative button.

“Carols for a Merry TUBACHRISTMAS” books will be available to borrow or purchase. Festive holiday attire including Ugly Christmas Sweaters, Santa hats, and tinsel are encouraged.

The Magic City TUBACHRISTMAS will be directed by Efrain Amaya, MSU associate professor of Music and music director of the Minot Symphony Orchestra. The program includes traditional Christmas favorites and an audience sing along with holiday favorites.

This event is presented with permission from the Harvey Phillips Foundation, Inc.

Starting at $2.99/week.
