WATFORD CITY – A valve-piping connection leak at the Maddy Federal 24X-34 well, about 14 miles east of Watford City, occurred Monday, Nov. 3.

XTO Energy Inc. reported Tuesday, Nov. 4, that 17,136 gallons of produced water were released into containment on Monday. As of Tuesday, all of the produced water had been recovered.

The North Dakota Oil and Gas Division was notified of the incident Tuesday.

A North Dakota Oil and Gas inspector has been to the location and will monitor any additional cleanup required.
