The U.S. Senate recently confirmed Maj. Gen. Jason Armagost for appointment to the grade of lieutenant general. He will be serving as Air Force Global Strike Command’s deputy commander, according to Air Force information.

Armagost was commander of the 5th Bomb Wing at Minot Air Force Base from 2014-2016. Most recently, he was commander of Eighth Air Force and Joint-Global Strike Operations Center at Barksdale AFB, Louisiana. During a change of commander held Nov. 6, Maj. Gen. Ty Neuman assumed command from Armagost of Eighth Air Force and Joint-Global Strike Operations Center.
