Double D-Haw reached its largest fundraising year to date, donating $30,000 on Monday, Nov. 3, to the Trinity Health Foundation to support breast cancer detection and treatment at Trinity Health.

According to Double D-Haw information, over the past four years, Double D-Haw has contributed nearly $80,000 to Trinity Health, helping fulfill the goal of purchasing the Brevera breast biopsy system. The technology enables faster and more accurate sample collection, provides real-time biopsy results and reduces discomfort and anxiety for patients undergoing needle biopsies. The system is now installed and in use at Trinity Health.

Dusty Zimmerman, director of the Trinity Health Foundation, said Double D-Haw’s support continues to enhance breast cancer care.

“For years, Double D-Haw has been both an incredible event and partner in the fight against breast cancer,” Zimmerman said. “Their passion and generosity have helped us continually enhance breast cancer detection and treatment at Trinity Health. This $30,000 gift reflects a continued commitment to our community and to the patients we serve.”

Double D-Haw organizers said efforts will continue in 2026 with a new goal: purchasing a Trident radiography system. The portable technology allows surgeons to obtain sharp, detailed images of breast cancer margins in the operating room, increasing surgical accuracy and decreasing time under anesthesia.

Executive Director ShaunAnne Tangney said the organization hopes to exceed this year’s success.

“Consider this: what if we could double our 2025 fundraising total? Imagine how much good we could do and care we could provide with a $60,000 donation in 2026,” Tangney said.

Starting at $2.99/week.
