‘Christmas at the Confluence Winter Faire’ set for Dec. 13

WILLISTON — Step into a winter wonderland at the Missouri-Yellowstone Confluence Interpretive Center near Williston during “Christmas at the Confluence Winter Faire” on Saturday, Dec. 13, from noon-4 p.m.

Explore how the Army prepared for winter on the Dakota frontier, learn about Indigenous winter traditions and enjoy demonstrations such as drop-spindling and tin-punch ornament making. Play historic games, test your skill at “Guess That Artifact-Winter Edition” or write an 1800s-style letter to Santa using quill and ink.

Additional activities include a toy seller’s stand, snow painting, a snowshoe trail and a holiday traditions table exploring how soldiers, settlers, and frontier children celebrated midwinter. Visitors can also enjoy coffee, cocoa and Christmas cookies while taking photos at the festive booth.

This event is part of the ND250 commemoration, celebrating our country’s 250th anniversary.

Starting at $2.99/week.
