Westbound traffic on Burdick Expressway through downtown Minot is being detoured due to an expansion of the work area for a water line replacement project, according to the City of Minot.

Because of safety concerns and the expanded work zone, no westbound traffic will be allowed during the course of the project, scheduled to last most of this week. Westbound traffic will be detoured north at Third Street Northeast. One lane of eastbound traffic will remain open.

The work is not a city project but is being done by a private contractor for Dakota College at Bottineau, 120 E. Burdick.
