Walk to End Alzheimer’s-Minot raises $58,180

Local residents joined together Saturday, Sept. 20, at Oak Park for the annual Walk to End Alzheimer’s-Minot, raising more than $58,180 to support Alzheimer’s Association programs, services and dementia research. A total of 323 walkers, donors and sponsors participated in this year’s event.

Walk manager Allison Fowler said the 2025 Minot Walk to End Alzheimer’s “was a truly inspiring day.” She said participants, volunteers and community sponsors came together “to make the event so special.” Fowler added that their support “strengthens our mission to end Alzheimer’s and all other dementia” and reminds everyone that “no one has to face this journey alone.”

Splash of Hope Knife River earned the title of top fundraising team, collecting more than $13,465. Team member Scott Brown walked in honor of his father and the 6 million Americans living with Alzheimer’s disease, saying he is committed to making a difference.

According to the Alzheimer’s Association, 7.2 million Americans are living with Alzheimer’s, supported by 11 million unpaid caregivers. In North Dakota, about 13,700 residents are living with the disease, assisted by 19,000 caregivers.

Donations to the Walk to End Alzheimer’s-Minot will continue to be accepted through Dec. 31. The association uses these funds to provide essential local programs and family support.

Starting at $2.99/week.
