One person injured in truck-SUV crash near Maddock
MADDOCK – A juvenile was seriously injured when the vehicle the juvenile was driving and a truck with a flatbed trailer crashed on N.D. Highway 19, about nine miles northeast of Maddock Sunday, Oct. 19.
According to the North Dakota Highway Patrol, about 5:07 p.m., a 2009 Chevrolet Suburban, driven by the juvenile, was northbound from a residential driveway on the south side of the highway, turning west. A 2006 Peterbilt truck with a trailer, driven by a 23-year-old Belvidere, South Dakota, man, was eastbound on the highway. The Suburban failed to yield and was struck by the Peterbilt.
The Chevrolet driver was wearing a seat belt and the truck driver was not wearing a seat belt, according to the Highway Patrol.
The driver of the Chevrolet was taken to a Bismarck hospital. The driver of the truck was not injured.
The crash remains under investigation by the Highway Patrol.
