NDCF awards grants to area organizations

Area communities are sharing in $227,330 in grants recently awarded by the North Dakota Community Foundation from its Statewide Greatest Needs (Unrestricted) Fund. There were 61 organizations receiving grants.

Among them are:

- Minot Family YMCA, Child Watch flood recovery, $5,000.

- Trinity Health Foundation, Minot, healthcare careers scholarship, $2,500.

- Mohall-Lansford-Sherwood School District, physical education equipment, $2,500.

- Newburg Community Club, install lights, power panel and outlets for new pavilion in Newburg City Park, $2,500.

- McHenry County Historical Society, Voltaire, upper level restoration of museum, $2,500.

- City of Sherwood, Sherwood City Park picnic tables, $2,500.

- McKenzie County Public School District, Watford City, small engines for agriculture mechanics education $2,500.

- Dakota Prairie Regional Center for the Arts, New Rockford, Old Church Theatre restroom renovation, phase 1, $5,000.

- Sheridan County Food Shelf, McClusky, community outreach and program improvement, $3,750.

- Tri-County Senior Meals and Services, Rugby, nutrition services for senior adults, $5,000.

- Western Dakota Honor Flight, Bismarck, 2026 flight to Washington, D.C., $2,500.

- Amachi Mentoring, Devils Lake, rehabilitation of Lake Region Community shelter, $5,000.

- Vision West, Dickinson, building capacity in western child care deserts, $2,500.

Statewide organizations receiving grants included:

- American Diabetes Association, ADA Camp Maverick, $2,500.

- BIO Girls, rural North Dakota programming, $5,000.

- Dental Lifeline Network of North Dakota, donated dental services, $5,000.

- Haley's Hope, West Fargo, virtual dyslexia resource hub, $5,000.

- Heroes Compass, Horace, care packages, $2,500.

- LISTEN, Inc., Grand Forks, therapeutic sensory swing for individuals with development disabilities, $5,000.

- North Dakota EMS Foundation, EMS scholarships and sponsorships for EMS continuing education, $2,500.

The NDCF Board of Directors reviewed and discussed 133 grant applications at its meeting in September to make the determination of awards.
