ND Dept. of Commerce updates tourism grant info
BISMARCK – The Scandinavian Heritage Association has been awarded a $110,943 Destination Development Grant, according to updated information from the North Dakota Department of Commerce.
The department also updated information released Wednesday, Oct. 15, regarding the award for the Boathouse Bunkhouse project in Devils Lake. That award is $235,900.
Previously released information, published in the Thursday, Oct. 16, edition of The Minot Daily News, had mistakenly listed higher awards for the two recipients. The heritage association has been working with the Commerce Department regarding the initial discrepancy and continues to work to clarify specifics of the grant.
The department awarded $15 million to 23 projects across the state to enhance tourism infrastructure and support long-term economic growth. It also provided updated information regarding the 106 applications, noting they came from 50 communities rather than 45.
The Destination Development program, funded by the 2025 Legislature, is designed to support the development and expansion of tourism experiences and attractions that contribute to North Dakota’s economic growth and diversification.
