Candace Brekke of Minot earned three awards in the 2025 National Federation of Press Women Communications Contest, receiving recognition at the NFPW conference in Golden, Colorado, in September.

North Dakota Professional Communicators, an affiliate of NFPW, announced 20 of its members received awards at the conference.

Brekke received first place in the category of web copy, created for AE Construction Management; second place in the category of advertising poster, billboard or banner for signage created for Norsk Hostfest; and honorable mention for a single advertisement, created for Ackerman-Estvold. Brekke had won top awards at the state level to advance to national competition.

NDPC is a statewide organization of women and men employed in all aspects of communication, including newspapers, public relations, education, magazines, television, radio, publishing, advertising, photography and freelance.
